The Finer Life Cigar Notes Database

Many customers have asked for a way to record notes on their favorite cigars. The Finer Life Cigar Database is a great reference tool for cigar aficionados, but it is read-only and does not allow notes to be added. To meet this request, we have created The Finer Life Cigar Notes Database as a companion product to The Finer Life Cigar Database. The capabilities and features of The Finer Life Cigar Notes Database is described below.

Note: The Finer Life Cigar Notes Database requires the application J-File or J-File Pro to be installed on your PalmPilot. J-File is a great general purpose database application for the PalmPilot and is available from Land-J technologies. Click HERE for more information on J-File and J-File Pro.
Once The Finer Life Cigar Notes Database is installed in your PalmPilot, it will be listed in the J-File database list as shown at right. Refer to the J-File or J-File Pro documentation for installation of J-File and installing databases.
The demonstration records of The Finer Life Cigar Database are pre-loaded in The Cigar Notes Database as examples as shown at left. These records can be deleted by selecting DEL from the database records screen. Refer to the J-File or J-File Pro documentation for details on how to delete records.
A new record can be created by tapping ADD from the database records screen as shown above. This will open a new, empty database record as shown at right. Most of the field names are highlighted. These highlighted fields have popup menus to make recording your notes quick and easy.
The popup list for each field is pre-loaded with the appropriate values from The Finer Life Cigar Database. However, if you want to add a value to the popup list or delete a value from the popup list, tapping "Modify popup list" (the last entry at the end of each popup list) will display a screen that allows editing the values as shown at left.
Add your specific comments, the price you paid, when you purchased the cigar and how many you have in your humidor and you now have a complete set of personal notes!
